Trackday Guide

Our team of track enthusiasts have been attending and organizing events on-track for decades, coming up with a simple but effective set of rules and regulations for you and your bike to follow when attending one of our events.

From bike prep, riding gear requirements, and registration procedures, to rider and spectator conduct requirements, the following pages will explain in detail what is expected so that you can arrive to the track confident and comfortable about your day. Sticking to these simple guidelines is what allows us to provide a safe and fun environment for everyone at our events, resulting in lots of time on track for every rider! It is the responsibility of each participant to be fully aware of the rules and guidelines that follow.

Each rider is required to read our trackday guide in it’s entirety prior to their event, ideally, before registering. By registering, you agree to all of the policies set forth by Pro 6 Cycle Inc..

Pro 6 events run rain or shine. Please be comfortable with the forecast before registering as there will be no credits or refunds due to weather

All riders must sign all required waivers before going on track. This includes Pro 6 Cycle’s waiver and the waiver for the track in which they are visiting. Links to online waivers are emailed to all pre-registered riders in the days leading up to the event block, and can be found under “ Rider waivers and Minor riders” from May onward.

All entrants must attend the riders meeting, no exceptions. Riders who DO NOT attend the riders meeting will not be permitted to participate in the event.

All riders who are required to participate in the New Rider Orientation must attend a) secondary riders meeting b) their on-track coaching sessions. Riders who fail to complete either of these guidelines will forfeit their trackday.

All participants must check in with our registration personnel to receive the appropriate wristband and registration/safety inspection sticker. All appropriate waivers for both Pro 6 Cycle Inc. and the facility you are attending must be signed online in advance.

You may be asked to show personal Identification at Registration. Please bring photo I.D with you.

We ask that you inform our registration staff or on site medical staff of any and all medical conditions that you have.

The supplied wristband must be worn at all times during the event to be allowed on track and hot pit lane. You may be asked to show the wristband at any time throughout the event.

The registration/safety inspection sticker must be adhered to the front fender or the middle of the front upper fairing only, prior to  safety inspection.

All motorcycles MUST pass safety inspection prior to admission on the track. If your bike does not pass safety inspection, you will NOT receive a refund. It is your responsibility to ensure your motorcycle is suitable for a day of track riding before arriving for the event

Calabogie - All motorcycles must pass sound inspection based on guidelines as put forth by the track. If your bike does not pass sound inspection, you will NOT receive a refund. Please check the website of the facility at which the event you are attending is being held for information regarding sound inspection. Sound test will occur at the same station, by the Turn21 store and fuels pumps. Calabogie sound testing proceedure and limits can be found here: https://calabogiemotorsports.com/rules Sound testing is available between 7am and 9am and is at the sole discretion of CMP staff.

In the event of a crash, you must pass safety inspection on the motorcycle before being allowed re-entry to the track.

All motorcycles MUST display the number chosen by the rider in their rider profile on the front and both sides of the motorcycle. The number must be easily seen and distinguishable from a distance (6” numbers are recommended). If your numbers are not identifiable and/or do not match that which you have selected within your profile you will not be permitted to enter the track.

The consumption of alcohol and/or marijuana during the hours of trackday operation (7:00am-5pm) is strictly prohibited. This rule applies to both riding participants & their crew, family and friends. Anyone found to be consuming either substance will be asked to leave the grounds.

The use of drugs will not be tolerated. Anyone found using drugs during our trackday will be reported to the Police.

Aggressive behaviour, physical or verbal confrontation will not be tolerated and anyone exhibiting such behaviour will be immediately removed from the event.

Any rider who either must switch bikes for mechanical reasons, or is just “trying a friend’s bike for the session” MUST inform Pro 6 Cycle staff PRIOR to attempting to enter the track. Any rider who fails to do so and causes un-do stress to the marshals and Pro 6 Cycle staff will forfeit the remainder of their event. It is imperative for the safety of yourself and others that we know who is on which bike on track at all times.

Any participant who switches or rides in a group he/she is not registered without first receiving approval from Pro 6 Cycle staff will forfeit their day, will be asked to leave for the day or depending circumstance, receive a ban on future events, and will be given NO refund.

Only the rider registered for the event may participate in said event. Loaning your bike to a rider who is not registered for the event to go on track with result in a life time ban from Pro 6 Cycle Trackdays.

Pro 6 Cycle reserves the right to sit riders out for one or multiple sessions or remove riders from the event based on their conduct if it is deemed as unsafe to themselves or other participants during the event.

It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that their family, friends and crew members are made aware of and abide by the facilites rules as well as our rules. Please ensure that you are all aware of the rules for the track.

RIDER GROUPS

Riding on track is all about having fun while perfecting your skills in the safest environment possible. We strive to meet these goals for all participants at our events. Over the seasons, we have found our rider’s who would like to change skill group are required to contact us and receive approval. Rider’s must be in good standing and meet the experience requirements set forth by us. We will do our best to accommodate your request while upholding the safety standard we set for the entire event. Below you will find a break down of each skill group and

RED

This group will include only very experienced track riders. Passing is permitted at any point on the track with the exception T1 at Calabogie. To join red group, riders must receive Pro 6 Cycle staff approval and meet certain requirements such as previous experience at the circuit, have reached a minimum lap time in yellow group, and completed a coaching assessment on track with a coach or visually by the marshalling staff. Riders must be in good standing.

YELLOW

This group will include riders that have had previous race track experience, are graduates of the GREEN group, and/or are comfortable at an increased speed (as compared to the GREEN group) Passing in this group is limited to straightaways, while the rider being passed is still straight up and down/ has not initiated their corner, and while exiting corners. There is no passing at apex. To join yellow group, rider’s must be in good standing in the green group/no recent riding infractions or black flags, have reached a minimum lap time in the green group, and have approval from Pro 6 staff.

This group will include the New to track rider group for the first two mornings of the event. Passing in this group is limited to straightaways only.

Rider’s who suffer a mechanical breakdown before lunch, that is determined up-repairable* by our staff, will receive a pro-rated credit based on the amount of unused track time remaining in the day.

Rider’s must communicate their mechanical issue to Pro 6 administration staff (Sheena) and have their bike’s mechanical issue confirmed as not repairable trackside by Pro 6 safety inspection staff. Failure to do so will result in no credit.

Mechanical situations after lunch will not be credited for the remainder of the day.

If you care signed up for multiple days in a row, you will be credited %50 of the rate in which you paid for the remaining subsequent days.

Rider’s must have passed safety inspection at the beginning of the event. Failing safety inspection does not result in a credit of any kind.

Failing Calabogie sound test requirements does not qualify for a credit.

From the brand new superbike, to the 10 year project bike you finally got together, we welcome a wide range of machinery to our events each year. What all bikes that join our events must have in common is their mechanical soundness. Nothing ruins your day, or everyone else’s, faster then a neglected or ill-prepared machine.

Each rider is required to complete a safety inspection of their machine(s) which they intend to ride on track prior to be permitted to ride for the day. Riders riding multiple days in a row are not required to complete the inspection each day, just on the first day. All riders who crash are required to re-inspect before going back on track. Our inspection is an oversight inspection to visually assess if your bike meets our requirements to join the event.  It is not intended to replace regular maintenance, service or diagnose issues to be repaired trackside. It is mutually understood that the rider has shown up with a machine that is safe and prepared.

All riders are expected to arrive with a bike that is clean, well maintained and in close-to perfect working order.

  • Tires and brakes must be in good condition and have enough “meat” to get through the day. There will be on site Dunlop tire service at each trackday, allowing for the opportunity to install replacement tires to pass safety inspection but, it is strongly recommended that you arrive with tires not in questionable shape.
  • All glass, headlights, taillights, mirrors, turn signals, and plastic lenses must be taped over or removed. The head and tail lights must not visibly shine through the tape. It is recommended that head and tail light fuses be removed.
  • All components be tightly secured with no loose parts, nuts, bolts or fasteners.
  • All machines must have an operational handlebar mounted kill switch/button and self-closing throttle in good working condition.
  • All motorcycles MUST use water instead of antifreeze or glycol based coolant. Coolant systems must be drained, flushed and replaced with Water Wetter or MoCool & Distilled water. This is non-negotiable and includes the liquid contained in the reservoir. Engine ice is not permitted.
  • Both front and rear brake systems must be in excellent working order. Brake pads must have minimum of  %50 wear remaining, lever must have good feel and not meet the bar when squeezed hard, Brake lines must be free from wear and routed cleanly free from binding or interference with other components, and the system free from leaks.
  • Sprockets must be in good condition and chain wear must not be notable.
  • There must be no leaks of fluids of any kind from the engine, fuel tank or system, suspension, brake systems or cooling system. Fluids must be in good condition.
  • All bearings are free from excessive play. Linkages, and chassis components in good working order. Levers must have ball on the end,
  • It is recommended that oil drain plugs and brake calliper mounting bolts are drilled and lock wired
  • Case covers are mandatory for all RED group riders and riders joining a VIP event.

Ultimately your machine is your responsibility and the safety of yourself, and others depends on you taking this responsibility seriously. No credits or refunds will be offered if your bike fails inspection and is deemed unsafe to participate in the event.

  • Every rider is expected to thoroughly go over their machine to ensure it is mechanically sound and safe to ride on track prior to attending the event. If the rider is not mechanically inclined, they should have a licensed repair shop inspect the machine and make any recommended repairs before the event.

Bike Numbers - Mandatory for all riders

  • Your assigned bike number must be displayed on the front and rear, or front and both sides of your motorcycle. Numbers must be a minimum of 5" in height and be clearly displayed on the FRONT and BOTH SIDES (upper side fairing or side of lower fairing) of your bike. Older style/Large tail sections that can accommodate a 5" number on both sides are also acceptable. Any modern tail sections that cannot accommodate two sets of numbers must have the numbers clearly displayed on either side of the machine.
  • Bike numbers must be clearly visible and readable from 100 ft away. Fonts and colours must be clear and concise and highly contrasting. White or black solid "plate" style background is highly recommended.
  • Bike numbers can be any colour, as long as they contrast with the chosen background.
  • Numbers on a windscreen must have a solid background. See example #2 below.
  • Side placement of numbers must not be obstructed by your body.

GoPro's and other Video equipment, Lap timers/cellphones

  • All on track video equipment (Go-Pro, Hero or other camera’s, Cell phones etc) must be approved at safety inspection. Have your camera secured to the bike how you intend to ride with it on track for safety inspection.
  • No cameras mounted to your helmets or your body are permitted.
  • Cameras, phones or lap times must be secured by a tether system. Items lost on track will not be searched for or returned.
  • No foam stick mounts or solid rod type mounts that could potentially impale during a crash.
  • If using a cell phone for a lap timer, it cannot be mounted anywhere where it is a visual distraction while on track i.e. your triple clamp or dash. Pro 6 highly recommends a purpose built on track lap timer.

Pro 6 Cycle VIP events operate at select days during the season. Many elements are the same as our regular events except for a few special qualities:

  • VIP events are run open track; there are not 3 groups. All riders are free to come and go on the track as they please. We do break 1 hour for lunch as well as two fifteen minute marshal breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  • VIP events are restricted to experienced Pro 6 Cycle trackday clients. Our general rule of thumb is that we need to know you. This means that you have done enough events with us that we know your name, how you ride, and that you are a safe and skilled enough rider to blend into the day. Riders who do not meet these criteria are still welcome to contact us if they wish to participate but must provide a reference from other reputable organizations.
  • Riders must also be experienced “Red” or “Yellow” group riders and must meet or ride below a certain lap time which will be deemed appropriate by Pro 6 Cycle staff. Please include an average lap time at the track in which you are requesting to participate at within your email request.
  • Riders must have ridden a minimum 5 trackdays at the specific track in which they wish to participate in the VIP, without incident; no crashes, black flags for conduct, etc., in addition to the above criteria.
  • VIP days have Red group/open passing rules.
  • Case covers are mandatory for VIP events for all participants.

Trackside emergency medical service and marshaling are a standard inclusion.

Trackside tire service by Pro 6 Cycle, suspension service by Propulsion Racing, and any other trackside special event service provided by Pro 6 Cycle and its partners are also available to the client.

Please contact Sheena via trackdays@pro6cycle.com to submit a request to join us at our VIP Events.

Each season for the past 10 years we have started off with our 2 day TRAC School at Calabogie. for 2026, the TRAC school will take place May 23 and 24.

Run once a year, this program has sold out each season since it’s launch. Whether you are a seasoned trackday rider looking for a few seconds, a first time rider to Calabogie, or an aspiring racer looking for tips and tricks for Canada’s best, we take great care to match each student and coach not only based on their on track goals, but their personalities to ensure a great time had by all.

Our innovative program will combine a detailed theory segment with on track instruction in order to allow track riders and racers to get the most out of their machines and themselves. The two day courses will include an in depth analysis of the theory behind performance riding and racing.

We prefer a more intimate approach, with a 4:1 student/instructor ratio that focuses on applying the theory and techniques you learn off the track, on the track.
